Hi! My name is Zoe, and I’m a student at Monash University studying Biomedical Science. I moved to Melbourne from Auckland, New Zealand, and was a November 2020 candidate of the IB.

I’d consider myself a very outgoing person. I love meeting new people and exploring new places - hence why I chose to move to Melbourne straight out of high school! In saying that, I do also enjoy being alone; in my spare time, I like to dance, bake, read and watch some Friends or John Mulaney stand-up. I really believe in the philosophy of “work hard, play hard”!

I decided to take IB in high school because I loved the well-rounded aspect of it. My HL choices were Chemistry, English and Maths, while my SL subjects were French, Biology and History. Although it seemed overwhelming at times, having to choose a broad range of subjects really allowed me to keep an open mind about the world of academics, while still reinforcing my love for the sciences.

I believe that learning should not just be about grades but also about an enjoyment for what you are studying, and I will aim to create an environment where tutoring sessions are an individualised experience to foster excitement for learning.

As a tutor, I offer one-on-one tutoring sessions both online and in-person. Being a recent IB graduate, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic, I am aware of new changes to subject curriculums as well as the concessions provided to 2021 candidates. Notes can be provided on subjects, if necessary, but self-note taking will also be encouraged as a revision method and study tool.
