Hi, I’m Viktor - a Monash Pharmaceutical Science Advanced student, who works a few social enterprises in education and volunteers with RSV, and a massive nerd for science. My interest lies largely with biology and chemistry. It began in year 9 with some out of class projects and culminated with miRNA folding prediction software that I worked on alongside university academics and two classes of year 10s and 11s that I prepare for Australian Science Olympiads.

In my downtime, I try and do everything I can get my hands on. This ranges from chess and old (“retro” thank you very much) video games, to metal and woodwork, to playing guitar and singing, to table tennis and breakdancing. It is through this exposure to so many things and to so many people, that I can relate on a personal level to anyone, and find a shared metaphor, approach or method that will get you the marks you want with minimal headaches on the way.

As for teaching, I try to link the real world with difficult to understand areas of chemistry and biology, painting an accessible image that make those tricky exam and SAC questions much easier while allowing you to ace the simpler ones without any time wasted. The conceptual approach to learning makes this possible, instead of the school preferred rote learning or blind memorisation of formulas.

This technique is made possible through my deep and varied exposure to subject at hand - as well as the routine VCE, I had the olympiads, various academic projects and internships. I will also teach various tactics that allowed me to reach the scores I wanted with minimal effort (less than 2 hours of work a week).

Viktor graduated from John Monash Science School with a Gold Diploma in 2018. During his time there Viktor was heavily involved with the sciences, having started a Science Olympiad preparation class in school - teaching chemistry and biology, and being selected into the ASI Biology Olympiad Summer School. Now studying the Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Science Advanced (Honours) at Monash University, Viktor plans to continue his passion for science for a long time to come.
