Hey! My name is Trenton and I graduated from Mentone Grammar in 2018. I like to spend my free time at the beach or travelling and (maybe like you) there was always something I'd much rather be doing than studying. That being said year 12 was undoubtedly my favourite year despite all the hard work.

There were so many times throughout the year where I found myself frustrated and full of doubt. Anyone who does Further Maths knows how infuriating and impactful silly mistakes can be. For me this was my greatest area of weakness (in not only Further but all my subjects) and something I really had to focus on. After a terrible first SAC in Physics I thought all hopes of achieving a 40+ study score had vanished. Instead of giving up on the subject, my passion for Physics drove me to reevaluate my study approaches and techniques so I could continue to work hard and enjoy one of the tougher subjects.

As a tutor, not only will I teach and explain the concepts in depth to ensure a greater understanding, but I will teach you the tips and tricks I learned throughout the year that helped me minimise silly mistakes and maximise marks on assessments and exams. This combination is what lead me to drastically improve my Physics scores and ensure I didn’t drop unnecessary marks in Further and I’m sure it will help you. I hope to help students not only achieve academic success, but thoroughly enjoy what they are learning as I did in my final year.

Trenton graduated from Mentone Grammar in 2018. He is now furthering his background in maths and science by undertaking the Bachelor of Commerce and Engineering at Monash University. Trenton attributes his success to his ability to maintain a balanced lifestyle - keeping up with his hobbies like surfing whilst not neglecting his academics. He believes this approach is integral to staying sane in year 12 and hopes he can impart this wisdom onto you.
