Hiya! My name's Roan, and I graduated from Blackburn High in 2020. I like to spend my free time singing in choirs, writing music, and volunteering on the council committee. I love catching up with friends, which definitely helped take my mind off the unforgiving stress of VCE. When I’m not enjoying bubble tea, I can also be found jamming out to Taylor Swift, or binge watching RuPaul’s Drag Race.

I have a profound passion for English, and my goal as a tutor is to inspire this same passion in you. For a lot of people, English can be intimidating. While this is sometimes true, my aim is to foster your skills as an English student so that the subject content is always approachable. I can provide you with advice, insight, and ways in which you can interpret a text that broaden your analytical understanding. This will help you become a student who is sharp and ready to tackle all the challenges you're facing in VCE. Being intimately familiar with the English study design and VCAA's marking schemes, I have the experience to help you exceed in the subject.

I was always taught to push my writing, and ensure that I put my strongest ideas forward. My job now is to assist you in developing your interpretations of texts, your English vocabulary and ultimately a love for the subject - so that you too can deliver essays that are sharp, concise and nothing short of excellent.

My time at high school may have come to an end, but I'm keen to share my knowledge, advice and love for English, to help you become a student you'll be proud of. I'm all about consistency, passion, dedication and individuality - and I hope that as your tutor, I can help you take on these values and achieve your goals.

Roan graduated from Blackburn High School in 2020, achieving an ATAR of 96.35 and school-best study scores in English and Philosophy. His experience in Youth leadership, both within and outside of school, has prepared him excellently to assist you in VCE. In his spare time, he trains as a classic opera and choral vocalist. Currently studying a Bachelor of Global Studies at Monash University, Roan hopes to work within international politics in the future.
