Hi, I’m Milo, and I graduated from Albert Park College in 2018. I love going to concerts with my friends, as well as reading and writing about music and film.

I fully understand how hard the last two years of high school can be for everyone, especially with a program as intensive as the VCE. I initially found subjects such as English and History challenging, as the writing style seemed different from anything I’d learnt beforehand. This caused me to have to carefully build up my skills in note taking, implementing teacher feedback and revision methods that work without taking up all of your free time. This worked, and by the end of the program I was able to score class awards in each subject.

I’ve already found that these skills are transferable to the VCE students I’ve tutored. Additionally, the resources I’ve kept from Year 12, such as a detailed bank of analysed quotes from Medea, have been directly applicable to many of these students’ exams.

Like you, I thought the few weeks that contained my 12 (!) exams were destined to be the most stressful period of my life.

However, after enough preparation I actually found this period extremely satisfying, and knew what I submitted was a reflection of the work I’d put in. I hope to be able to take the sting out of the exam period for anyone I tutor, and show how the Year 12 exams, if approached in the right way, can be incredibly rewarding and (mostly) stress free experience.

Milo completed the International Baccalaureate (IB) at Albert Park College in 2018. During his time there, Milo discovered and immersed himself in his passions for film, literature, and history. Having completed IB Language & Literature and History at the ‘Higher Level’ (HL), Milo is well equipped to teach the nuances of each subject to even the weakest of students.
