Meg Challis
Hi, I’m Meg and I’ve recently graduated Haileybury Girls College in 2017. In terms of my personal interests, I’m particularly passionate about baking, reading and writing. I love to find new recipes and ideas that are able to push me to grow and expand my own skills.
While I definitely found VCE to be a tough and stressful time, I was able to take strength from teachers and friends, as well as my own love for the subjects I took. Although I understand not every student sees the immediate relevance of Locke’s treatise on identity to their own lives, I believe that tutoring is primarily about building a genuine appreciation and interpretation of the subject matter, in a way that transcends simple Study Designs or practice questions.
In this way, I strive to help students develop not only an awareness of the particular demands of the VCAA Examiner’s Board but also a deeper understanding of the texts themselves. This approach ensures that students are able to better tackle anything their SACs or the exam may throw at them, despite whether they had prepared for those specific questions. I also believe it allows students to come away having gained more than a simple mark or ATAR and will ultimately enrich their own world view.
Meg graduated from Haileybury Girls College in 2017. An aspiring writer with an afinity for the humanities, she is studying the Bachelor of Arts at the University of Melbourne where she hopes to nurture her passion.
