Hey, I’m Maya! As you may have seen from my photo, I love to travel. I also enjoy cooking, baking, and playing and listening to music for hours on end (tiny desk concerts have my heart). I successfully managed to navigate VCE without any last minute studying, all nighters or even a planner (yes, I have a good memory). My philosophy on learning is doing little amounts of work often.

As a tutor, I will assist you with thoroughly preparing for SAC’s through developing an understanding of not only the content, but also what the markers look for in responses. Half the battle in VCE is understanding what you’re learning, and the other half is learning how to study. I learnt that the small stuff is what makes all the difference; the perseverance, the constant chasing up of questions and of course the strength and courage that it takes to find help when you need it. I have a passion for English, humanities and commerce-based subjects as I have always loved working with big picture concepts and ideas; this was particularly evident for subjects like Global Politics, Business Management, Sociology and Legal Studies. The bottom line for me is that I really enjoy helping others learn and I will be extremely supportive with your academic journey.

Maya graduated from Haileybury College in 2020 as the recipient of the Haileybury Academic Scholarship and an Academic Distinction Award. Additionally, she was the school captain, form captain and house captain throughout her schooling journey. She is now studying a double degree in commerce and law at Monash University, and hopes to become a laywer, consultant or entrepreneur. In her spare time, Maya enjoys playing sport, performing music, and pursuing her creativity through photography, art, and fashion.
