Hey, my name’s Lachie! Last year I graduated from Haileybury College, and now I’m studying medicine at Monash University.

While a keen learner, I’m the type of person that is most at home either surfing waves or camping in the middle of the desert. When I’m not hiking in the wilderness, I love playing music (particularly the piano) and reading in my spare time. I also love volunteering – I’m particularly passionate about closing the gap in indigenous health and literacy.

Throughout my VCE years I studied a wide variety of subjects, from mathematics to languages, sciences and humanities. The course structures and exam styles for all of these subjects are vastly different, however this menagerie of subjects has taught me the study techniques common to all, as well as the more refined differences specific to each subject. Hopefully I can take away the best bits of all these techniques and help tailor them to your individual learning styles.

In addition to the course-specific assistance I provide as a tutor, I’m able to share my experiences in managing a hectic workload. Ever optimistic, I decided to engage in just about every extra-curricular activity, music ensemble, leadership opportunity and 3rds level sport team I could, all the while setting myself high goals for VCE. As a tutor I’m more than happy to impart on you the lessons I have learned this year in multitasking and time management.

Graduating from Haileybury College in 2017, Lachlan juggled his academics with being school captain as well as numerous extracurriculars including mooting and the global issues society. Boasting a perfect 99.95 ATAR and a perfect score in English, he is now studying the Doctor of Medicine at Monash University. Imbued with a strong passion for social justice, Lachlan hopes to one day employ his medical background to improve outcomes in indigenous health.
