School can be an incredibly rewarding experience. I completely understand the expectation, whether that be self-imposed or extrinsic, to succeed academically whilst leading a balanced life rich with personal development and altruism. I can also understand how that may appear to be extremely difficult when embarking on your journey through VCE, just bear with me – it is possible.
During my time in VCE, I don’t think I would have coped mentally without aspects of life besides academics; I still found time to volunteer with various organisations, long-distance run at least three times a week, partake in two leadership roles, be a part of a range of committees, run a school-wide charity event and even manage a social life. All these other aspects of school define your final years beyond your grades and I would be elated to share time management and personalised efficient and effective study skills with you that will allow you to succeed in your academics whilst still participating in the other things you love doing.
Whilst balance is important, I am an unashamed science nerd and I am proud of it. I would take great pleasure in helping you reach your goals in science as I have a genuine appreciation for the subjects I tutor. I have an array of strategic approaches to help you achieve a comprehensive understanding of your chosen subject that will maximise your potential to do well and hopefully lead you to enjoy that subject too!
Now that I have completed VCE, I hope to complete medicine at Monash University and continue to follow my passion for science and medicine. I am here to help you to achieve your goals so that you may follow your passions after VCE too.
Jessica graduated from secondary school in 2019 with an ATAR of 99.80, a 50 in Biology and the prize for Physics at Haileybury Girls College. On top of this, Jessica also received a High Distinction in the Australian Science Innovations (ASI) Biology Olympiad for placing in the top 5% of all entrants. No stranger to success, her interest in the sciences have led her to undertake the Doctor of Medicine (MD) at Monash University. Jessica hopes that she can spend her career giving back to the community that nurtured her passion.
