Hi, I'm Elijah! Cats, writing, and going for walks are some of my (various) interests/hobbies, though I spend a significant amount of my time translating various works of literature (for personal enjoyment of course). I graduated from high school in 2021 and intend to study arts at uni afterwards.

I tutor Latin - it's been my utmost passion since I started learning it mid-2016. To such a degree in fact that I even took the time to translate an entire book across 2020-21, Apuleius' Metamorphoses. Admittedly I probably could have spent my time more productively (it was during years 11 & 12 after all), but the experience has expanded my knowledge and capability of the language drastically.

My lessons are generally an hour long (with some leeway) and about $50-55 each, (preferably on weekends but weekday afternoons are fine as well). I focus on comprehension and translation, though I do also spend time on explaining Roman society as well as analysing prescribed texts (especially for VCE students), and I do my best to bring out humour from what in certain hands can become rather bland. Hence I am appropriate for those wishing to begin learning the language or for those preparing for VCE assessments.
