Dylan Glatz
Hi! I’m Dylan, and I graduated from Melbourne Grammar School in 2019, where I’d boarded since 2014. Being a boarder from country South Australia meant that I was keen to take advantage of all the many extra-curricular and academic opportunities that schooling in the big smoke presented.
One of my first great passions was the theatre, and this was informed by a strong background in public speaking and debating, as well as a love for the English language. Put simply, I’m devoted to the humanities and liberal arts, and this is a passion that I’d love to see instilled in current students as well. My high-school life was characterised by an energetic balance of theatre rehearsals, weekly debates and, of course, keeping on top of my school work. VCE is about much more than memorised essays and endless hours of study— with my help, you can learn how to channel your interests and individual approach to learning, so as to perform to the very best of your ability.
My longstanding love of English can help you to focus on the big picture while also ironing out the creases in your studies, honing in on the important skills and techniques that are relevant across many of your subjects. As young tutor, I’m able to offer extensive knowledge of texts, a plethora of relevant details, and comprehensive analysis, note-taking and response strategies. Not only can I help you to wrap your head around what you’re studying, but I’m super keen to help you turn this knowledge into good work that produces strong results. My love of the English language and written expression can assist you in understanding what interests you, and transforming that into effective strategies for tests, assessments and exams. With my tips, I can put you ahead of the pack, help you to showcase your strengths, and flex those literary muscles! I’m looking forward to working with you.
Dylan graduated from Melbourne Grammar School in 2019 with an outstanding academic record and a plethora of awards, including selection in Top Acts Drama, the Barry Humphries Prize for Liberal Arts, the English subject prize and the Perry House Dux. He is now studying a Bachelor of Arts at University of Melbourne, and hopes to one day study law. Dylan is passionate about theatre, and in his spare time he enjoys reading, writing, hiking and playing tennis.
