Austin Chen
Hey guys, my name is Austin and I graduated from Haileybury College in 2018. I am now studying commerce and engineering at Monash Uni.
As we all know, VCE can be a struggle. Time spent with friends becomes time spent with teachers. Thoughts on what was happening the next weekend become stressful thoughts about the next SAC.
Personally, I spent a lot of my time playing piano or guitar, and occasionally on weekends, playing volleyball or going out. I didn’t want to let go of my hobbies, which made me determined to discover how I could minimise my time spent on studying whilst achieving the highest score possible.
Soon, I saw the significance in understanding how VCAA scored exam papers and how this was the solution. In Further, extended response questions tend to have certain key words or phrases that are required. Similarly, multiple choice questions could be easily conquered through a decent bound reference and proper calc skills.
And this is where I come in. I hope to bring you these exam techniques to your doorstep while guiding you with other study tips to increase study efficiency so that you too don’t have to sacrifice your passions for that desired ATAR.
Austin graduated from Haileybury College in 2018 as Senior Organ Scholar Captain which allowed him to perform on pipe organs around Melbourne. In his spare time he enjoys playing musical instruments (guitar, piano, violin) and volleyball.
