Hi! I’m Alan Lu.
I graduated from Melbourne High School in 2020 and started my Bachelor of Science in Data Science at the University of Melbourne in 2021. For VCE, I took English Language (37), Maths Methods (42), Specialist Maths (38), Chemistry (45), Economics (44) and my personal favourite Algorithmics (40).
While I’m primarily interested in data analytics, I’m more broadly interested in maths, commerce, and computing and hope to work with all three fields.
In my free time, I enjoy biking, origami, and competitive programming. Apart from English, I’m also fluent in Python, C and Java!
My main goal as a tutor is to equip students with a fundamental understanding of concepts, aligning my lessons with the school curriculum. I will adapt my teaching methods to each student to best suit their learning needs.
Having taken part of VCE during COVID, I understand the additional stress and uncertainty that lockdowns and online learning can bring, but with determination and an upbeat attitude, I hope I can make tutoring for you the best it can be!
