‘Frameworks not recipes,’ my grandpa would say. ‘If you spend your time memorising recipes, you will learn to bake a mean chocolate cake, but you’ll never master a souffle.’

My ummappa (grandpa) may be gone now but his words of wisdom have rung true at every stage of my life.

At Intuition Academics, we preach a very simple message. Any student has the potential to understand any topic if they are first taught the core concepts (frameworks) that underly them.

Mayu is a doctor, researcher, and educator based in Melbourne. His research focusses on improving outcomes for patients in the intensive care unit. Mayu’s passion for education has culminated in years of teaching high school and medical students, and authoring a VCE Maths textbook.

I worked with Mark for med interview prep and the experience was great. I started a bit later than others and he was very accommodating with extra sessions to make sure I caught up. The content sessions were really useful and then the small group practice sessions were great to get individualised feedback and practice responses under realistic time pressure. It all paid off and I’m very thankful!

Huge thanks to Pimal for the MMI prep. If you're hesitant and not sure whether to pursue tutoring for your med interview, I'd definitely recommend diving in head first and taking advantage of these very affordable and productive sessions.
